Molly Routledge doesn't just have the secret to living beyond 100 – she also has a tip or two for amazing skin.
The glowing widow, who has just celebrated turning 103 with a party, swears by Pond's Cold Cream and a daily swig of cider vinegar with honey.
Molly, who was born 15 years after the lotion was invented, said: “My mom introduced Pond's Cold Cream to me when I was a little girl.
“When I was about five years old she told me to apply it every night. It's important to always use moisturizer morning and night.”
Former nanny Molly met sailor Thomas during the Second World War and they went on to have two sons and a daughter, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Thomas died 21 years ago and Molly now lives in Church View care home in Seaham, County Durham, where she says knitting, crochet and quizzes give her a zest for life.
The home laid on a party for her, loved ones and friends for her birthday.
Molly, who was serenaded by singer Gregg Ross amid the balloons, had one other tip for staying young: “A wonderful husband and family.”
