A pensioner died after his mobility scooter collided with a van.
The 82-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after sustaining serious injuries in the accident.
Sadly, he died 10 days later, on December 23.
Officers are investigating the incident that occurred on Uttoxeter New Road in Derby at around 8am on December 13, and are looking to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone who may have dashcam footage.
In a statement, Derbyshire police said: “We were called to Uttoxeter New Road just after 8am on Tuesday, December 13 to reports of a collision involving a silver van and a mobility scooter at a pedestrian crossing near the Bemrose School.
“An 82-year-old man from Derby, who was on the mobility scooter, suffered serious injuries in the collision and was taken to hospital.
“He died in hospital on Friday 23 December.
“His family have been made aware and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
“Officers investigating the collision are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time as well as anyone who may have dashcam footage.”

It comes as earlier this month an OAP was stopped and rescued by police after driving down a busy road on his mobility scooter.
The pensioner was spotted traveling along the 70mph road in his vehicle, which has a top speed of only 8mph.
After receiving a call on November 29, the Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit was scrambled to the scene, where they found the man near the entry slip road that leads onto the A38 from the roundabout next to the Royal Derby Hospital and Aldi in Mickleover, Derby.
