Michał Dworczyk, Minister of the Chancellery of the Council of Ministers of Poland, announced on Twitter today that another Polish citizen has been killed in the ongoing war in Ukraine. The victim, a Ukrainian soldier, was fatally wounded on Friday, while two others who were injured a few days ago remain in serious condition. Dworczyk expressed his condolences, saying “Unfortunately, this is not the best time.”
The deceased soldier, Michał, was a platoon commander of the International Legion, fighting against the Russian invasion since April last year. He was awarded the Order of Courage by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a month ago, and his contract was due to expire in a month’s time. According to Polsat News correspondent in Ukraine, Mateusz Lachowski, Michał had expressed his desire to return home and serve in the Polish army again.
