Shocking footage has emerged showing Sara Sharif's alleged killers just moments before they were arrested by police while arriving back in the UK.
Sara was found dead at her home in Woking on August 8, and three members of her family flew to Pakistan the day after. They returned on September 13 to police waiting to board the Emirates flight.
Sara's stepmother, Beinash Batool, can be heard in the video saying, “I think you're looking for us” as she raises her hand.
The 10-year-old's father, Urfan Sherif, and uncle, Faisal Malik, as well as Beinash Batool, have both denied murder and causing or allowing the death of a child between December 16, 2022, and August 9, 2023, during their trial on the Old Bailey.
Several officers boarded the plane from Dubai just seven minutes after it landed at Gatwick Airport.
Urfan was handcuffed on the plane after telling police he did not have a bag with him.
He's then seen standing by a police van before being arrested on suspicion of murder along with Faisal and Beinash.
The day after their arrest, all three were interviewed separately, and they made no comment when questioned.
On Friday, the jury at the Old Bailey was told that social services took no further action despite Sara's school referring her after they spotted bruises on her just months before she died.
Surrey Police had found Sara's body in a bunkbed after Sharif called from Pakistan to say that he had beaten her “too much” for being “naughty”.
The little girl had suffered dozens of injuries, including burns and human bite marks, in what the prosecution alleges was a campaign of abuse culminating in her death.
The trial continues.
