Donald Trump could be the last US President with a “deep emotional attachment” to Britain, Nigel Farage has warned.
The Reform UK leader challenged Keir Starmer to make the most of his friend's second term in the White House to help boost the economy.
Addressing Trump's upcoming presidency, Mr Farage told the BBC: “As far as we're concerned this may be the last ever American president with a deep emotional attachment to these islands and so yes, he is of course talking about tariffs, which is one Example of something that could happen, that could really hurt us. It's all avoidable, it's all avoidable.”
He added: “Starmer has to think about two things very hard.
“Firstly, does he want us tied closer to an ever failing Europe or tied to a booming America. “Secondly, I think Keir Starmer really needs to think about our deep cultural and trade ties with the US.”
The Brexiteer insisted Mr Trump is very “prepared” to take over from Joe Biden on January 20 and that his second term will be “more organized, more disciplined”.
He said that the president-elect has become a “much calmer person” since the assassination attempt on Mr. Trump in the summer.
And he vowed that the Republican strongman has a plan for the USA.
“He has got a plan, and it's quite a radical plan. He will on the world stage do what he did in his first term and bring peace.
“The Ukraine war will end. It will end. Even Zelensky, the Ukrainian President, now says 'yes' it will end.
Mr Farage told the BBC that Elon Musk's support for Reform UK makes the party look “cool” and helps it attract younger supporters.
The party leader, 60, praised the X owner and world's richest man, 53, as his “American friend”.
He has been linked with a $100 million donation to Reform, but Mr. Farage downplayed the likelihood of the handout being that big.
The Reform leader told the BBC: “He may well give us money.
“Whether he does or not, I think what he gives us with huge numbers of young people, he makes us look cool.”
