Poignant photographs show the inside of the Tenerife Airbnb where British teenager Jay Slater went the night before he disappeared.
His disappearance sparked a massive manhunt by police and local authorities, which was dramatically called off on Sunday.
The 19-year-old was staying at a two-bedroom cottage in the village of Masca, called the Casa Abuela Tina.
The cottage is listed on Airbnb as set in a “unique natural landscape” and costs £40 per night.
An online post reads: “It is a house with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room and kitchen ideal to enjoy the tranquility, reading, hiking or nature.
“The house has wifi and all the necessary appliances for a comfortable stay in one of the most beautiful and rugged places on the island, nestled in the heart of Macizo de Teno.”
A photo of one of the bedrooms shows a double bed in a cozy room that has a wooden floor and ceiling, with white painted walls.
Jay, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, sent pictures of himself from inside and outside the house on Snapchat to his mum and friends.
He went back to the remote cottage in the early hours of Monday morning after a rave in Playa de las Americas on June 17.
Although the search was called off on Sunday, two plain-clothes detectives returned to the property on Tuesday morning.
The officers said they were from the judicial police and were carrying out their work, but declined to go into any details.
A local who saw them arrive told MailOnline: “They got here around 9am and spent almost two hours inside. They got the key from the owner.
“I thought it had already been searched but I don't know for sure.
“It's been taken off the market and not available to book, that's all I know.”
Later, it emerged that forensic units from the police had spent at least two hours inside the rental.
Little information is known about the two men last seen with Jay, other than that they are in their late 30s and early 40s.
They were questioned by the police but then allowed to return back to the UK. Officials said they had no relevance to the case.
