The new seasonal quest for Fortnite requires you to find an ascender, so here’s what they are and where to find them.
Fortnite Season 3: Chapter 2 has not only taken out the building from the game but introduced more weird choices for skins to play with, as it continues to make changes to the map.
As such, Epic Games has added ‘ascenders’, vertical ziplines that have been placed in various locations.
To use the ascenders around the map you’ll not only need to find them but also hit your ‘use’ button to ride them upwards or back down to the ground.
To unlock more of the Battle Pass, with a 20,000 XP boost for completing the quest, all you need to do is use an ascender twice – and not necessarily even in the same game.
Where can you find ascenders in Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 2?
It doesn’t matter which order you use them in, so wherever you happen to land just head to the closest location first.
For Command Cavern, you want to go to the ship that’s currently parked there and either clamber onto the top or go below. The ascender will be there and you can take it up or down to complete part of the quest.
Again, you don’t need to use both ascenders in one game, so if you find that you can’t make it to the other one due to the ever-threatening circle (or if you die) don’t worry, when starting your next game just make sure you try and land somewhere close to the other one.
This one is a little more tricky to find, you’ll need to go onto the track, by the northwest corner by the cliffside, and up the road, where you’ll find your prize awaiting you.
When you’re done in both locations be sure to scour the area for any loot that might help to get the edge on your opponents.
How to get the battle pass in Fortnite and how much XP to level up
You’re able to purchase the Battle Pass for Chapter 3: Season 2 of Fortnite within the game for 950 V-bucks, the in-game currency. This can either be earnt by playing or just bought outright with real money (950 V-bucks works out to around £7.50).
Doing so will allow you to access even more of the rewards as you progress, including the two variations of Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange.
The 20,000 XP earnt from completing this ascender quest will give you a big boost as each level of the Battle Pass until level 200 is a whopping 75,000 XP and once you’ve passed that, it begins to grow in increments of 400.
You’ll want to be quick if you want to play as Doctor Strange though, as the Pass is now 29% finished and is set to expire on June 3rd (which will likely be when Season 4 starts).
Fortnite is free to play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Android.
