The upcoming series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins reportedly saw one star ‘walk out’ just one day into filming
A participant in this year’s edition of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is said to have thrown in the towel on the very first day.
The popular Channel 4 programme is set to return to our TV screens on Sunday, 3 August, featuring a lineup that includes Chloe Burrows, Harry Clark, Rebecca Loos, Tasha Ghouri, Louie Spence, and Lucy Spraggan.
The celebrity contestants are whisked away to Wales to undergo a rigorous selection process for special forces, under the guidance of chief instructor Billy Billingham and his team.
Yet, it seems the intense challenge was too overwhelming for one celebrity, with reports suggesting Hannah Spearritt departed from the show within the initial day of shooting.
An insider disclosed to MailOnline: “Hannah had pretty much exhausted all of her connections within the industry before she left for Costa Rica.
“She no longer speaks to her band mates and has now completely shut herself off from that world. The final straw came last summer when she took part in Celebrity SAS.
“Hannah truly believed that a stint on one of the hardest and most gruelling shows could turn things around for her. But sadly she just couldn’t hack it and walked on the first day. It was all rather embarrassing.”
Channel 4 has been approached by Wales Online for a statement.
Hannah gained fame as part of the pop sensation S Club 7, sharing the spotlight with Rachel Stevens, Paul Cattermole, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, and Tina Barrett. The band burst onto the scene in 1998 and went their separate ways in 2003.
S Club 7 experienced a fleeting reunion in 2015 and had announced another comeback with a tour slated for 2023. Tragically, following the announcement, Paul passed away, and Hannah decided to step back from the group prior to the planned performances.
Beyond her singing career, Hannah has made a name for herself as an actress, notably portraying Abby Maitland in Primeval, Mercedes Christie in Casualty, and Kandice Taylor in EastEnders, reports OK!.
In recent times, Hannah took to the ice on ITV’s Dancing on Ice, where she was partnered with Andy Buchanan. The duo were the second pair to leave the popular series.
Hannah is also a devoted mother to two daughters, having given birth to her first in 2018 and her second in 2020, with her partner Adam Thomas. She has recently moved to Costa Rica with her family, announcing on social media their move to start a “new chapter” in their lives.
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins begins airing on Channel 4 on Sunday, 3 August.
