Netflix has announced a new true crime documentary releasing next month which is the perfect watch for fans of the genre
Netflix enthusiasts are all asking the same question as a fresh true crime documentary with a twist has been unveiled, and it’s arriving sooner than anticipated.
The streaming giant has announced a new addition to its roster next month, titled Should I Marry a Murderer. The documentary will feature one fiancée, Caroline Muirhead, who recounts the bone-chilling moment her partner confessed to a murder.
Set to debut on Netflix on 29 April, the documentary delves into the moment Caroline discovered the murder after her partner fatally struck a cyclist and then attempted to conceal the crime, reports the Mirror.
A synopsis from Netflix states: “A fiancée turned key witness reveals how she stayed engaged to a man accused of murder while gathering evidence against him in this documentary series.”
This week, a dramatic trailer was released for the forthcoming documentary, where Caroline can be heard saying: “‘Imagine you fall in love with someone who made you feel accepted, wanted, seen, who made you feel whole and loved and special, and you are just so happy.”
She continues: “And then they say to you I’ve done a horrible, horrible thing. Something so vile it flips your entire world upside down.”
She is then heard asking: “To remain in love you have to keep this secret that you know is going to destroy you. But if you reveal it, then you destroy everything. I mean, what would you do?”
The series includes news reports from the time of the crime, with one stating: “Mountain rescue teams are searching for a man who’s been missing for more than a week.”
Another report chillingly reads: “There was not a single trace of him alive ever again”, while yet another adds: “He has effectively disappeared into thin air.”
Netflix viewers have all expressed similar sentiments, confessing they are “already locked in” and eagerly anticipating the new release. One individual posted on Instagram: “How on earth do you sleep knowing there’s a possibility that you could be next??”
Another queried: “Do you even have to ask that question??” A third chimed in: “Is this rage bait? What a stupid question.”
A fourth responded: “The fact she’s even contemplating what’s morally right is a major concern! Putting feelings and the relationship aside, If the decision doesn’t immediately come to you then you need to take a real hard look at yourself!”
One person remarked: “Being a murderer is a major red flag guys.” Another wrote: “Why is this even a question??? Of course, NO!!!!”
Should I Marry a Murderer will be released on Netflix on April 29.
