Rob McElhenney has chosen to share his recent diagnosis of “neurodevelopmental disorders and learning disabilities,” shedding light on his experience and aiming to reassure others that they are not alone.
The 46-year-old star of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” took to Twitter on Tuesday to make the announcement.

In his tweet, the co-owner of Wrexham AFC revealed, “I was recently diagnosed with a range of neurodevelopmental disorders and learning disabilities! At 46!” He further explained that he would discuss the complete diagnosis and prognosis on an upcoming episode of The Always Sunny Podcast in two weeks’ time.
McElhenney continued, “It’s not something I would normally talk about publicly but I figured there are others who struggle with similar things and I wanted to remind you that you’re not alone. You’re not stupid. You’re not ‘bad’. It might feel that way sometimes. But it’s not true :).”
The actor’s tweet received an overwhelmingly positive response from his 1.1 million Twitter followers, with many expressing gratitude for his openness about his diagnosis. Fans thanked McElhenney, who is married to his It’s Always Sunny co-star Kaitlin Olson, for his willingness to share and provide support.
