A Cardiff hotel has been named as Welsh wedding venue of the year. Voco St. David’s in Cardiff Bay was crowned as the best wedding venue in Wales at the Welsh Wedding Awards, winning both the Cardiff and national categories.
Set on Cardiff Bay’s waterfront, the five-star venue offers views over the water and the city along with afternoon tea, fine dining experiences, and an award-winning spa. The hotel, which originally opened in 1999, has been operating under the Voco name since 2018. The first five-star hotel in Wales, the venue has 142 rooms and features an impressive atrium lobby and a sail-topped roof.
The hotel was up against nine other venues across Cardiff, including Cardiff Castle, in the shortlist for wedding venue of the year Cardiff. The hotel was then pitted against prestigious venues from across Wales before emerging as Welsh Wedding Venue of the Year. The hotel was also the regional winner for Cardiff in 2020.
