AMAZON Fire TV Stick users have issued a warning about a free content scam that can take your money.
The advice was posted on a popular Reddit forum called r/FireStickHacks.
The forum has over 45,000 users and is used for sharing Fire Stick advice as well as tips and tricks.
“What do you guys use to watch movies and tv on your Firestick for free,” one Redditor asked.
“Don’t respond to any DMs offering service. People are a**holes,” one person warned.
“Happened to me, unknowingly. I’m new here and he knew it. Took advantage right away,” cautioned another.
Amazon Fire TV Stick users may find services online promising to jailbreak their device and offer them access to free movie content.
This can sometimes lead to people watching content illegally.
The person who jailbreak the Fire TV Stick may also ask for a large fee.
“I see posts on Facebook marketplace for ‘jailbroken firesticks’ people are selling for $80 or more,” another person wrote on the Reddit thread.

“I want to contact them, arrange a meeting, and then ask to see the firstick.
“Then drop it on the ground and stomp it when they hand it to me.
“Childish and petty, I know. But people that do that are taking advantage of people.”
There are free streaming apps that you can download onto your Fire TV Stick that are legal and safe to use.
Tubi is one of the biggest free movie and TV services in the US.
