True crime enthusiasts are “gripped” by a brand new release examining one of America’s most notorious manhunts.
Investigating the real events surrounding the “female Charles Manson”, Disney Plus has launched a brand new three-part docuseries entitled Girl on the Run: The Hunt for America’s Most Wanted Woman.
The series is now available to stream in its entirety on Hulu and Disney, with audiences hailing it as essential viewing for true crime aficionados. Disney Plus reveals: “Branded the ‘Female Charles Manson’, Sarah Pender escapes prison sparking a nationwide manhunt.”
The programme chronicles what unfolded when convicted double murderer Sarah broke out of a maximum security prison in Indiana, triggering an extensive, nationwide search.
Documenting the intense pursuit, the series immerses viewers in the real-life drama and tension as US Marshals scrambled to locate Sarah before she could evade capture and vanish permanently, reports the Mirror.
Running across three episodes, the documentary features an exclusive interview with Sarah herself, alongside contributions from law enforcement officials and former inmates.
Posting a video on TikTok, one true crime enthusiast described the new release as “so good”, highlighting “one of the most infamous manhunts in American history”. They continued: “It’s a really interesting documentary I absolutely loved it. I can’t recommend this enough.”
