National Highways has advised drivers to allow extra time, consider alternative routes or delay their journeys.
Westbound:
-Exit the M56 at J2 and take the first exit
-Follow the A560 southbound onto Brownley Road
– Continue to Simonsway and turn left
-At the B5166 Styal Road, turn right
– Continue to the A555 Manchester Airport Relief Road and turn right
-Follow the A555 onto the M56 Airport Spur Road
– Bear left to rejoin the M56 westbound
